Hi. My name is Sara Lovat and I am the School Social Worker at Hancock/Hamline Elementary. It has been my pleasure to work at Hancock since 2003. As a school social worker I work with students and their families to form relationships between a student's home, school, and community. I work with students, families, and teachers to address mental health issues, develop school-based interventions, and connect families with community resources. I received my MSSW (Masters of Science in Social Work) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and am licensed as a social worker by the state of Minnesota a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. My elementary education occurred here in St. Paul where I attended St. Anthony Park Elementary, Murray Junior High, and Central High School.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and running.
