I'm glad you came by! Although I have worked in the St. Paul schools for almost 10 years, this is my first year at Hancock. I already love this great school right across the street from my alma mater, Hamline University.
I  | | Discussing the habits of good readers | have undergraduate degrees in both French and Elementary Education. In 2008, I received my master's degree in ESL at Hamline. But teachers never stop learning. Some of the most important things I've learned have come from my students.
I'm  | | Ms. Heim | from Michigan, and return for summer vacations with my big family of almost 100 people. I have 2 grown children and a black dog. My favorite things to do include gardening, swimming, reading and writing. I am also learning to play the  | | Cooking something delicious with Ms. Heim | banjo.
I am one of eight staff people assigned to kindergarten. My title is ELL (English Language Learner) teacher. I'll work with all kindergarten students, but my special focus is on students who are learning English.
We learn  | | Performing Reader's Theater for the class | anything fast when we're enjoying ourselves. That's why we keep our classes fast-paced and fun. We'll sing, move, draw, act and laugh. Just watch. Soon we'll be speaking English!
