| Meet Ms. Gibson | | My name is Kelly Gibson. I am the science specialist at Hancock. I teach science to all first through sixth grade classes. I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I graduated from Slippery Rock University in 1998 with a degree in Environmental Education. I also studied Environmental Science during my time in college. I taught at environmental education learning centers for 3 years before moving to Minnesota in 2001. I received my teaching license through work toward my masters at Hamline University. I feel honored to be back at Hancock for my second year. I have enjoyed getting to know all of the students and watching them grow in scientific literacy.
I love being outdoors to enjoy the wonder of nature. I enjoy camping, gardening, hiking, and riding my bike outside. I also love animals, including my two cats and the new gecko in the classroom. I also love to read and visit my family in Pittsburgh.
