| Meet Ms. Abrams | | | | Ms. Abrams | My name is Marjorie Abrams and I have been privileged to be Hancock's
principal since the year 2000. I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
I lived there until I went to college at Boston University in
Massachusetts. I studied Literature and Education. When I graduated I
moved to Washington, D.C., our nation's capital. Many of my family
members still live there. After I moved to Minnesota, I went back to
school at the University of Minnesota to get my Master's degree in
Educational Psychology and Special and Vocational Education. I worked
with adults with disabilities at St. Paul College for many years. I
left the college to teach students with severe disabilities at Como
Elementary in St. Paul. Then, I decided to become a principal and
entered St. Mary's University to earn my administrative license.
I
have one daughter who is a college student in her junior year. She
hopes to be either a psychologist or a social worker. I have a
granddaughter who is five years old, and doesn't know what she wants to
do when she grows up! My hobbies are reading, golf, walking, and
traveling.
I love working at Hancock! I love the benefit of having Hamline University as a collaborative partner!
