Meet Mrs. Roberts
KaRen_20New_20Year
Ms. Roberts with some students
Hello!  My name is Claire Roberts.  This year I am excited to be working with the fourth grade team.

I came to the United States from Chile when I was almost 6 years old and was an ELL student myself.  I grew up in Roseville and spent several summers in European countries living with families as an exchange student.  I hold a BS. degree in Business and Economics from the University of South Florida.  I received my K - 12 ESL licensure in a Post Baccalaureate program at Hamline University and am currently working on my Master’s in ESL also through Hamline University.

I have been teaching in St. Paul for nine years and have been at Hancock for the last six years. I enjoy my job as an ELL teacher and I look forward to coming to work each day.  The students and staff in our building work hard, have fun, and are respectful to each other.  In this environment, it is very rewarding to watch the rapid progress our highly motivated students make each year.

In my free time I enjoy being with my family and friends, reading, gardening, and travelling.  My husband and I have two children ages 20 and 17 who keep us very busy.  We have a dog who loves to go for walks and play hide and seek, and a horse that my husband rides in many parades during the summer months.
