| Introduction to Mr. Middleton |  | My name is John Middleton and I would like to introduce myself as the Orchestra Teacher here at Hancock School and at Capitol Hill School. I grew up with an excellent public school orchestra experience in Wisconsin, and earned Bachelor and Masters degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Colorado. I am a violist in the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and perform violin or viola in various groups in the Twin Cities. Apart from my passion for fostering a lifelong love for great music in my students, I like to do outdoor activities like skiing, hiking and kayaking. My wife is also a musician who teaches chorus and voice at Century College, and our daughter has studied violin for 11 years.
